Sciences - l'heure de génie
Big idea/La grande question: Demonstrate a sustained curiosity about a scientific topic or problem of personal interest
The question of inquiry/La question d’enquête: comes from the science 5 or 6 curriculum (see below)
The question of inquiry/La question d’enquête: comes from the science 5 or 6 curriculum (see below)
ONGOING ASSESSMENT:
• Record on Seesaw regularly – the process (beginning, middle and end): What is the project about? What have you learned so far? What is hard? How will you overcome the difficultly? • Daily reflections individually and with peers: What did you do today? What was hard? Do you need any help and supplies? What will you start with next time? OPTIONS: Tell the teacher, record on seesaw, talk to a partner. • Periodic self-assessment of critical thinking using rubric –teacher feedback • Periodic self-assessment of scientific process using rubric –teacher feedback |
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT:
Students will make a movie trailer or explain on Seesaw AND explain to their parents: what is this project about, what you learned, what was hard, and how you overcame your challenges. • students will use the Critical-Thinking rubric to self-evaluate • students will use Science Process rubric to self -evaluate • teachers will use these same rubrics to evaluate student learning and critical thinking abilities |
CRITERIA:
All projects will be presented as follows:

Les Questions possibles/ Possible questions :
Les organismes multicellulaires possèdent des systèmes d’organes qui leur permettent de survivre, de se reproduire et d’interagir dans leur environnement. Multi-cellular organisms have organ systems that allow them to survive, reproduce and interact with their environment.
What does our body need in order to survive? Les solutions sont homogènes. Solutions are homogeneous
· Qu'est-ce qu'un mélange hétérogène? What is a heterogeneous mixture? · Comment les mélanges peuvent-ils être séparés? How can mixtures be separated? A machine is an object that transfers force and energy.
Newton’s 3 laws describe the relationship between force and movement. What is the difference between balanced and unbalanced forces? Which balanced and unbalanced forces can you observe in daily physical activities? Our solar system is part of the Milky Way galaxy and billions of other galaxies in the universe. What are the relationships between the Earth and the rest of the Universe? · Qu'est-ce qu'un environnement extrême? What is an extreme environment?
